{"id":2284,"date":"2020-03-11T11:02:25","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T15:02:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uqam.ca\/?page_id=2284"},"modified":"2025-12-09T14:17:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T19:17:19","slug":"international","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uqam.ca\/en\/information\/international\/","title":{"rendered":"International"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For UQAM, the world is a place for building networks, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UQAM is home to students of diverse cultures and backgrounds, including <a href=\"https:\/\/etudier.uqam.ca\/etudiants-etrangers\">4,994\u00a0international students from 94\u00a0counties.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UQAM offers <a href=\"https:\/\/etudier.uqam.ca\/aucentredetout\/international\">40&nbsp;programs with an international component<\/a>, as well as an <a href=\"https:\/\/mba.esg.uqam.ca\/en\/international-executive-mba\/\">Executive MBA program<\/a> (EMBA) in a dozen countries, available in French, English, and Spanish. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The University has agreements with more than 400&nbsp;institutions in 60&nbsp;countries. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.international.uqam.ca\/pages\/international.aspx\">Office of International and Diplomatic Relations<\/a> and the School of Management\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/international.esg.uqam.ca\/en\/\">International Student Support<\/a> allows thousands of students to further their education abroad, welcomes international students, and encourages academic mobility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UQAM\u2019s\n<a href=\"https:\/\/langues.uqam.ca\/\">Language School<\/a> broadens the horizons of more than\n700&nbsp;students per year thanks to its accredited programs and courses\nin 10&nbsp;modern languages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UQAM\noffers international <a href=\"https:\/\/etudier.uqam.ca\/ete\">summer programs<\/a> in Abidjan, Berlin, Bogot\u00e1, Dalian,\nFlorence, Molyvos (Mithymna), and Prague, among others, with courses in\narchaeology, cinema, history, world languages and cultures, and social\ninnovations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Every\nyear, UQAM organizes large-scale cosmopolitan <a href=\"https:\/\/evenements.uqam.ca\/evenements?page=1&amp;types=13\">conferences, seminars, and events<\/a> that bring together participants\nfrom around the world. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The University hosts multiple <a href=\"http:\/\/recherche.uqam.ca\/unites-de-recherche-et-de-creation.html\">research groups<\/a> that collaborate with professors from across the globe, including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> Five UNESCO Chairs (communication, education, environment, philosophy, and radicalization prevention) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ieim.uqam.ca\/?lang=en\">Montreal Institute of International Studies<\/a>, whose activities focus on globalization, governance, security, diplomacy, and human rights.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a large number of\nUQAM\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/professeurs.uqam.ca\/\">professors<\/a> conduct their research through partnerships\nforged around the world, and many graduate students have the opportunity to\nembark on research trips, connect with international networks, and participate\nin internships in a\nmultitude of fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Many\nmembers of the UQAM community have distinguished themselves on the\ninternational stage, winning <a href=\"https:\/\/distinctions.uqam.ca\/\">competitions and prestigious awards<\/a>, such as the Order of Academic Palms, Legion of\nHonor, Model United Nations, and the Google Online Marketing Challenge.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For UQAM, the world is a place for building networks, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the community.
